Perry bietet ebenfalls günstige Kavallerie und Infanterie an, doch Verwundete werden teuer und eine abgesessene Kavallerieeinheit darzustellen ist geradezu sündhaft teuer. Perry hat es meiner Meinung nach etwas verschlafen, hier auch ein Artillerieset in Plastik und reiterlose Pferde in Ruhepose herauszubringen.\"

Irgendwie irritiert mich dein Post, erst schreibst du oben das sich Plastik erst ab Zehntausend Boxen lohnt, und dann fragst du unten wieso sie keine \"reiterlosen Pferde\" machen etc

die Antwort dürfte wohl sein, das die wenigsten reiterlose pferde in Ruheposition brauchen, genauso verwundete

Bei Artillerie und abgesener Kavalerie kann ich es jedoch auch nicht verstehen,
wer eine ACW armee aufbaut, braucht mindestens 2-4 Kanonen, das sind 2-4 Boxen, schwer vorstellbar das sich das nicht lohnen soll, besonders wenn man sieht wie die Leute sich auf den rest der günstigen Plastikminis stürzen

I\'m totally against plastic figures (for myself). It\'s the weight and feeling to have metal figures and the possibility to clean them with acid to paint them again and it is the sculpted figure I like not the possibilty to glue some plastic parts together. All of my five WFB armies and my five WAB ones are made of metal (even the huge Empire and Skaven armies), except some WFB horses (the old metal horses are too small, sad but true ). The price can\'t be an arguement, buying by omnibus orders or from ebay make the metal ones pretty cheap. But: If you are not willing to spent some money for quality and \"feelings\" you won\'t get them

I don´t know where you order your figures

but on the German ebay there´s nearly nothing historical which ist useful for wargaming, (with a few exceptions)

in the tabletop category,  the only thing historic is World war 1 and 2 miniatures (mostly 15 mm for Flames of war)
and in the Category \"Tin figures\" there´s some napoleonic stuff

but common miniiatures from foundry,renegade, old glory, artizan, aren´t seen on ebay

do you buy on ebay UK ? (looked there once too, but if you don´t buy a lot in one auction, the balance of \"price of the figures\"/sending costs, doesn´t match )

also omnibus orders are only good in price if compared to buying in blister by blister

But maybe we have different understandings oft \"pretty cheap\"

for example the OLD WEST PLAINS WAR US ARMY DEAL which Foundry offers at the moment (114 figures (incl. riders) plus 42 horses).

do you think thats cheap?

So maybe you can give me some numbers, what, in your opinion, is a \"pretty cheap\" price for foot soldiers with rifles,  or cavalry

Sorry if sth I say above sounds harsh, but i think a discussion or a contradiction is more productive if you say what you think without hiding half of it :)

ebay.uk, nothing else matters Off course you have to look for a bunch of unpainted figures. But there are a lot, if you aren\'t in a hurry (I have to know it, because  I watch it nearly every day for the last year or so ).

Omnibus orders: My experience is with Newline Designs and Gripping Beast.
Newline had a January offer e.g. post free and 20% discount (!?!) even to unit deals, have a look to all these (obsolete! ) army deals http://www.newlinedesigns.co.uk/pricing/wab2000ptarmydeals.htm (pretty cheap and good quality me think). I also have a special deal with them, but the range was reduced drastically so less interest. But maybe SHQ is interested in huge omnibus orders too....
With GB I have a special discount for our omnibus orders which means we buy them something like GBP = € and post free (pretty cheap and high quality too, but deals not included).

Sometimes you simply have to wait or know the right people

My point of view is that of a WAB player, I don\'t play skirmish systems and don\'t have to buy from Foundry  :fie:

I\'ll say it again,I\'m a metal fan myself. :thumbup: I always have been,and I always will be. :borg: I don\'t like the feel or weight of plastic miniatures.Somehow it reminds me of the toy soldiers I had as a boy.I suppose the metal miniatures feel like a \"hobby\" and not a toy if you get my meaning. Most of us \"Old Timers\"feel this way.With that said,if the weight and feel is not a problem for you then good for you. I can understand your price argument.I have a few plastic WFB models and no plastic for WAB or any historical games for that matter.

With the release of the Perry plastic for ACW has got me thinking of buying because of the price, :rolleyes: but I\'m still having a hard time getting my head around the plastic aspect.As of now,I\'m still staying all metal.

My feelings on the subject are, that you should go with what makes you comfortable and what you think will interest you in playing with.
