Dux Britanniarum, das grundlegend ein Kampagnen- und Regelsystem ist, kann man nicht nur fĂŒr Kampagnen verwenden, sondern, wie es im Buch selbst steht, auch fĂŒr Einzelgefechte. Nun habe ich im Buch selbst keine weiteren Informationen gefunden, ob man fĂŒr die Einzelgefechte - ausserhalb eines Kampagne - eine eigene Armeeliste aufstellen kann oder ob es immer die idente Aufstellung fĂŒr die römisch-britische und die sĂ€chsische gibt?  

Die Standard-Liste ist immer zb. fĂŒr die britische Seite 1 Commander, 2 Noble, drei Levy-Truppen, 2 Warriortruppen und eine Leibgarde/Elite-Truppe sowie eine Einheit PlĂ€nkler. Kavallerie bekommt man - sofern gewollt und möglich - erst innerhalb der Kampagne.

Wie ist das nun bei Einzelgefechten? Es gibt keine Punkte/Einheit damit man zb. eine 500 Punkteliste aufstellt. Wie kann man hier verfahren? Nimmt man immer die Standard-Truppe, oder macht man sich mit dem Gegner aus, dass man zb. maximal 8 Einheiten insgesamt hat und davon maximal ein oder zwei Elite und/oder Kavallerie?

Ich wĂŒrde letzteren Weg wĂ€hlen, oder vollkommen \"frei Schnauze\" nach bestimmten Szenarien spielen. Nachdem DB ja in keinster Weise den Anspruch erhebt ein Turnier taugliches Spiel zu sein wurde hier wohl bewusst auf Punktwerte verzichtet. Auch ist es wohl im Sinne der Regelschreiber, wenn sich auch mal ungleiche Truppen gegenĂŒber stehen und es somit mehr auf Talent & Szenario ankommt.
Innerhalb einer laufenden Kampagne stehen sich ja auch nicht immer gleich starke Kontingente gegenĂŒber, da es immer davon abhĂ€ngt wie die letzten Schlachten gelaufen sind, ob man VerstĂ€rkungen erhĂ€lt oder die Truppen sich schon vollstĂ€ndig von der letzten Schlacht erholt haben.

They say you can play one off battles, but it\'s really not designed for that at all. It\'s campaign based and narrative in nature. If want equal one off battles then simply always give everyone roughly the same amount of nobles and groups in progressively larger amounts of equal status, but I highly recommend playing the campaign where you get the most from Dux Britanniarum.

If one off points based games interest you then I suggest playing SAGA which caterers to that style.

@ moiterei - Wahrscheinlich ist dies der beste Weg um bei DB Einzelgefechte zu spielen. Auch stimmt, was Axebreaker meint, dass man erst mit einer Kampagne das ganze Potential von DB rauskitzelt.

Yes indeed Dux Bellorum is another very good option for Arthurian gaming, but I was assuming you were primarily interested in a skirmish system so approached it from that angle. If your open to everything then you can add Impetus, Hail Caesar, WAB Age of Arthur(great reference book btw) and anything else you can think of to the list as all having ways to play the period.

you can easily play dux bellorum with a dux britanniarum \"force\" and vice versa if you use sabot bases (if not already doing so with dux britanniarum
this is not possible with hail ceasar, WAB etc ... SAGA would be an option

dux bellorum certainly gives you a different game, but equally putting you into the position to micro manage your troops
if you consider one group as one element the transition is quite fluid

i love both systems and especially the campaign system which IS dux britanniarum, on the other hand the nice and easy game which dux bellorum offers
... and the fact that both do not cater for competition tabletop gaming  :thumbup:
so dux bellorum makes it easier for a \"bring and battle\" with its point system if you want to balance out enemy forces
