Die WAB-Community sollte da keine Angst vor diesem Schritt haben, meine ich. Wenn das Regelwerk gut ist, wird es auch weiter gespielt werden.

Das sehe ich, ehrlich gesagt, ganz anders. Die Überarbeitung des Grundregelwerks ist sehr, sehr sinnvoll (und mit dieser Einschätzung stehe ich, glaube ich, nicht alleine). Und auf kostenlosen download verzichte ich lieber, wenn der Preis dafür die Einstellung jeglichen Supports in Form von neuen Supplements, Errata usw. ist. Die Sorge, dass die Assimilierung durch Forgeworld zum Ende von Neuveröffentlichungen führen und Forgeworld sich ausschließlich auf den Vertrieb des bestehenden Sortiments beschränken könnte, kann ich deshalb gut nachvollziehen. Deine Beispiele stellen insofern das Worst Case Scenario dar.

@ Schrumpfkopf: Für WW2 ist GW viel zu spät dran, um da einzusteigen, und würde sich m.E. gegenüber FoW und dem 15mm Maßstab extrem schwer tun. Hinzu kommt, dass es sehr gute Alternativen bei den Figuren gibt (so hat Warlord Games z.B. Bolt Action Miniatures übernommen und Verkauft dazu Rules of Engagement), und es für \"Weiterentwicklungen\" der Produktpalette, wie man sie von WHFB und 40k kennt, im Historischen praktisch keine Möglichkeiten gibt. Ich bin mir auch nicht sicher, ob das ins Firmenimage von GW passt, aber das ist ein anderes Thema.

Eine Erwähnung wert finde ich die Tatsache, dass es einen \"Goodbye Rob\" Thread im engl. WAB Forum gibt und teilweise enge Wegbegleiter ihn da verabschieden.
Klingt leider nicht danach, dass vielleicht noch was geht und doch nicht auf eine Trennung hinausläuft, so zumindest mein Eindruck.

It\'s corporate GW and nothing else.They stopped being a hobby a long tome ago and that\'s obvious in both the degragation in customer service,inflated prices and treatment of their staff.They are a prime example of what not to become as a wargaming and hobby retailer.It\'s very sad,because Rob did a good job with minimal support from GW and managed to turn it into probably the most popular system for historical wargaming in 25/28mm.A real nice way to repay loyalty.All my best goes to  Rob,a real nice guy and devoted manager.I hope he finds success in the future.

As far WAB going away,I doubt that.Although WAB was run and pushed by Rob,it is the baby of Mr. Priestly and he still has alot of influence.It\'s rumored Forgeworld will take it over,but the question is in what fashion.My guess would be more fat and less meat(ie.more pics and less narrative) and in a quicker rate,but less thought and play testing put into it.Therefore a more inferior product.As we know GW does care about the overall content quality,and it\'s only the sales that matter.I hope I\'m wrong and WAB is handled with care and production is to a high standard,but I have my doubts.We shall see.

Mike arbeitet also weiter, auch unter den geänderten Bedingungen. Hab das flüchtig mal in einem der englischen threads als Anmerkung gelesen, mir aber erstmal nix gedacht. Hat Rob Mike \"bekommen\" und eingearbeitet damit der ihn dann ersetzt? Es war ein bissiger Kommentar, wenn das wirklich so ist wäre das natürlich bitter. Für Mike sicher auch nicht so dolle auf der Salute bestürmt zu werden.

Irgendwie völlig verkorkst und irrational das Ganze.

Naja, nach der Salute weiss man sicher wesentlich mehr wo es langgeht.

Das wäre auf jeden Fall ziemlich bitter.

Die original Mitteilung ist ja schon eine gute Woche alt und und da war das ganze sehr frisch, seitdem gibt es keine weiteren Informationen.
