We’ve received so many phone calls, emails and forum posts about our forthcoming Pike & Shotte Cavalry we thought it was about time for an update. We’ve shown you the box artwork in all its glory already and now we’re happy to show you the plastic riders sprue:
As you can see, we’ve spared no expense on these models and we’ve done our best to be clever with the tooling on the helmets so that you can make either Royalists or Roundheads with ease. Our plastic cavalry pushes the boundaries of quality and innovation of design moreso than anything Warlord have produced to date!
The sharp-eyed among you may notice that these fine soldiers don’t have any mounts. We’re due to receive the horse sprue any time now and once that happens we’ll be able to give details of pre-orders and release dates!

Finally, both boxes will contain flags for the forces they depict in the boxed set art. It should be noted that our Cavalry models are perfectly compatible with not only the Englsih Civil Wars but the Thirty Years War as well. To this end we’ve not only included colours for the Royalist and Parliamentarian armies but also cornets (flags) for various Thirty Years War regiments.
The red one is Gerard’s cornet whilst the black is General Ake Tott’s regiment from the Thirty Years War. Of course, there will be many more in each set.
It’s also worth mentioning that the metal Dragoons are with us (we’re waiting longer than usual thanks to those delightfully helpful chaps at the Royal Mail) and they are so lovely they have to be seen to believed. Stay tuned!
