It has taken us some time to get to grips with the Bolt Action Miniatures range we bought 10 months ago. Weâre now on top of things and are delighted to announce the release of our first two 28mm metal boxed sets!
Screaming Eagles contains 21 US Airborne miniatures whilst the
Red Devils boxed set has 19 British Paratrooper figures. Each boxed set is a great value for money and is also supporting by a range of blister packed elements such as anti-tank guns, specialists, snipers, mortars, and more!
Few divisions in the British Army have earned such a valorous reputation so quickly as the Parachute Division. Known as âThe Red Devilsâ by the Germans for their trademark maroon beret and dogged fighting ability, the British Airborne grew into a force to be reckoned with. These versatile paratroops could be delivered by Dakota aircraft, Horsa glider or deployed as front line shock troops.
Red Devils contains:
âą Command: 2 Officers with Sten guns, 1 Medic and 1 Radio Operator
âą 10 man section: Sergeant with Sten Gun, 2 man Bren gun team, Corporal with Sten gun and
6 paratroopers armed with Sten guns or SMLEârifles
âą Vickers HMG and 3 crew
âą 2 man PIAT anti-tank team
Drawn from all over Britain, the volunteers established an awesome reputation for daring and sheer bloody-mindedness, culminating in their heroic but, ultimately, doomed (but famous) defence of Arnhem bridge in Holland.
Although comparatively lightly-armed, British Paras could dish it out and would not hesitate to close to hand-to-hand fighting if needs be, screaming their warcries as they went.
Warlord Gamesâ British Airborne are ideal for fighting in Northwest Europe where they could be used to re-fight actions such as the assault on the Merville Battery, the coup de main attack on Pegasus Bridge, the heroic battles of Operation Market Garden, or the crossing of the Rhine and Operation Varsity.
As we mentioned, we also have a complete line of supplementary blister packs to allow you to expand your Red Devils force. These include a 3âł Mortar Team, 75mm Pack Howitzer, and a 6 Pounder Antitank Gun.
St.âMĂšre EglisĂ©. Carentan. Nijmegen. Bastogne. Actions that stir the blood and conjure images of highly-trained US paratroopers punching holes in the German lines in Normandy and later holding off overwhelming opposition in the Ardennes. These American Airborne models are suitable to represent the 101st âScreaming Eaglesâ, 82nd âAll Americanâ, or the 17th âThunder from Heavenâ divisions â arguably some of the toughest of the US army.
Screaming Eagles contains:
âą Command: 1 Officer, 1 Sergeant with M1 Garand rifle, 1 Medic and 1 Radioman
âą 12 man squad: Sergeant with M1 carbine, Sergeant with Thompson SMG, 8 Paratroopers with
M1 Garand rifles, 2-man .30 Cal LMG team
âą 60mm mortar and 3 crew
âą 2-man Bazooka team
Aggressive and innovative, these elite troops were eager to take the war to âthe Krautsâ â something they did very successfully. They were ordinary citizen soldiers, but highly trained and motivated, superbly equipped, and packed with firepower as only an American force can be!
As brilliantly highlighted in the superb TV series, Band of Brothers, US Airborne troops were always at the pointy-end of the action and werenât found wanting.
Just like the Red Devils, our US Airborne have a wide variety of support packs to go along with the boxed set. Among them we have US Airborne Specialists, Support Teams, a 57mm Antitank Gun, and a 75mm Pack Howitzer.
If that seems like a lot of models to you, thatâs a good thing because it certainly is! All of them are ready to be airdropped to your tabletop right now in the
Warlord webstore.
