Released on 24th January 2011, the new plastic Saxon Thegns box set is now available to pre-order from the website! Pre-order and your Thegns will be posted before the official release date.

All pre-orders will also recieve a FREE metal thegn sculpted by Bill Musketeer Thornhill (pictured left.) After the set is released, this figure will only be available free with multi-box deals (which are also available to pre-order! )

The box set contains parts to create 44 armoured Saxon Thegns. They are spear armed although the box does include some extra sword and hand-axe arms too.

PLEASE NOTE - these are pictures of models made up from the sprues in the actual set.

Also included in the box are extra parts to turn up to two of your warriors into Saxon Lords and up to two into horn blowers.

The set also includes two dracos and the instructions come with two full colour paper banners that you can attach to spearmen. Like the Vikings, the Saxons come with a sprue of bases on which you can mount all 44 warriors.

The box set will retail at £20.00 plus P&P.

Over the next day or two we will be uploading loads of pictures to the website featuring the new Saxons. There will be shots of some unpainted models, of the sprues and of some interesting models made with parts from both the Saxon Thegn and Viking Hirdmen spues!

Ich denke, die Box ist super, auch wenn nur als Ersatz- und Conversion-Teile. Ganz überzeugt bin ich von den Figuren so wie sie stehen nicht, aber sie eröffnen schon einiges an Möglichkeiten. Schade, dass so viele Kreuze zu sehen sind.

Und, auch wenn ich ein großer Fan von Musketeer bin, überzeugen will mich die Sonderfigur auch nicht. Das könnte allerdings auch an dem Foto liegen. Vielleicht liegt das nur am komischen Winkel.

Sind 3ups vergrösserte Proytotypen für die Herstellung? Anonsten kann ich mir nicht erklären, wie man die Augen einer 28mm dermassen genau malen kann...
