I\'m doing the French as well, just not in 15mm, but 28mm like I said. I\'ve chosen the Empire period using a standard infantry division. I\'ll be using 4 bases per battalion with 6 infantry and 3 cavalry per base. Artillery I\'ll put 1 gun on 2 base widths giving me 2 guns per battalion and 1 limber per battalion.

du hast/planst die selben Armeen, die auch ich anstrebe, nur eben 5 bzw. 8 mm größer.  :thumbup: Meiner Meinung nach die interessanteste Kombination, da beide Staaten fast ständig im Konflikt lagen. ;) Ich werde allerdings auf 4x2 basieren. In 15/18mm würde ich allerdings auch zu 4x3 cm tendieren. Ich habe eine Einheit Preußen von AB und die vorgeschlagenen 8 Figuren pro Base sind auf 4x2 einfach nicht unterzubringen, ohne dass die Base überladen wirkt. ;)

28mm - da gibt es wirklich schöne Figuren: Perrys, Calpe, Victrix etc. - würde aber den Masseneffekt vermissen.

With Lasalle board sizes and 6 infantry and 3 cav to a base will give a massed effect and you will have the added benefit of actually seeing the miniatures. It\'s also cost effective with Victrix and Perry.

As I am a fan of smaller scales, especially in terms of mass battles, I prefer the look of 16 10mm-Miniatures on a 4x2 base. ;) And painting the numbers of required miniatures in 28mm would probably be another neverending story.

As so often a matter of taste...


....and of the circumstances. If there had been players in the vicinity, who knows, perhaps I had used 15, 20 or even 28 mm. But as so often the people talked about the possibilities (also of 28mm plastic), talked about the great look of the miniatures, talked about the own interest in the period etc. ... and until now they keep talking;)
