Today we are excited to announce that the first of several new Warhammer Historical rules sets is available to pre-order – Kampfgruppe Normandy. We also have a detailed WWII German decal sheet to accompany this lavish book, both of which will be on sale in limited numbers at Salute 2011 on 16th April.


Kampfgruppe Normandy available to pre-order now
Written by Warwick Kinrade, Kampfgruppe Normandy is a huge 348 page, full colour, large format, hardback book containing rules for playing miniature wargames set in Normandy during the summer of 1944.

Kampfgruppe Normandy is a completely new games system that includes detailed rules for such aspects of warfare as: command and control, suppressing fire with small arms and high-explosives, direct and indirect fire, aircraft attacks and anti-aircraft fire. It also includes a unique battle group morale system to determine the victor in each battle. The rules can be played using any 1/72 scale (20mm) WWII plastic, metal and resin infantry, vehicles and terrain kits.

As you can see from these page spreads, Kampfgruppe Normandy includes over 100 photographs taken during the war by those who were there, many rarely seen before. The book contains eight army lists from which players can build combined-arms battle groups: four Allied lists, for both British and American Armoured and Infantry divisions and four German lists, covering both SS and Wehrmacht Panzer divisions, and Werhmacht Infantry and Fallschirmjäger divisions.

It also contains two mini-campaigns set in the British and American sectors of Normandy which provide extensive background information, scenarios and equipment data as well as full-colour uniform guides for German, American and British forces.

Kampfgruppe Normandy is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 26th April, but before this it will also be exclusively available in limited numbers at Salute, which is held at London’s ExCel Centre on 16th April.

WWII German Decal Sheet available to pre-order now
Released alongside Kampfgruppe Normandy is this detailed German decal sheet, designed by Forge World’s Paul Rudge.

Packed with over 1,200 individual decals, this sheet provides national insignia, vehicle numbers and divisional insignia for the 1st, 2nd, 9th and 12th SS Panzer Divisions.

The vehicle numbers on the sheet, designed for use with 1/72 (20mm) models, can both be used straight away in the designations supplied, or combined together to allow further unit numbers to be created for specific vehicles. The sheet has been designed with the wargamer in mind, and allows multiple vehicles from the same unit to be easily detailed.

This decal sheet can now be pre-ordered for despatch in the week commencing 26th April. Along with Kampfgruppe Normandy, the German decal sheet will be available in limited numbers at Salute 2011 in advance of this shipping date.

Not cheap at 54.00€ or so! ;( I\'m already playing Disposable Heroes which I like and the scale I don\'t care for either at 1/72nd( I prefer 28mm), although I think it will still play at 28mm. I\'ll wait for some reviews before deciding on this.

Als das mal vor 1 1/2 Jahren beim Historical Weekend vorgestellt wurde, hat es niemanden vom Hocker gerissen

juhuu, noch ein 2.Wk Spiel, das niemand wirklich braucht und dann 54€ 8| .... Bei der Preispolitik würde es mich nicht wundern, wenn sie den Laden bald ganz dicht machen. Die sollten mehr MaFo betreiben oder sich mal um Projekte kümmern, die schön längst überfällig sind, wie z.B. Over the Top

Na ja, das wäre nicht das erste Buch welches ich mir nur wegen der Bilder, Anregungen, etc. kaufe... und bei einem Hardcover mit 350 Seiten in gewohnter Aufmachung und der ja doch etwas kleineren Auflage werfen mich 50 Tacken nicht unbedingt um... Kunstbildbände mit 100 Seiten habe ich schon für den dreifachen Preis gesehen.

@ lameth: War mir auch noch nicht bekannt, dass Russen in der Normandy gekämpft hätten...außer in den Ostbatallionen auf deutscher Seite...;)

Also da gibt es ein paar Dinge die mich wundern:
1.) Warhammer Historical bringt was neues raus?
2.) Der MaĂźstab wundert mich nun WIRKLICH, wobei ich den ja spiele also nichts dagegen einzuwenden habe
3.) Der Preis... aber wenn das Buch geil ist relativiert es sich vielleicht.
4.) Ob aus Warhammer-Quelle ein gutes WW2 Spiel werden kann das sich anders spielt als Herr der Ringe oder 40k...  :hust:
4.) Warum eigentlich nicht mal wieder WAB... irgendwie ist das nämlich gerade am ausbluten habe ich das GefĂĽhl  :tomate:
6.) Wieso gibt es Punkt 5.) nicht?

Der Preis ist wirklich zu hoch, aber es es halt schön bebildert. Als Sammler bin ich interessiert. Beim Maßstab gehe ich davon aus, dass GW eventuell einen Hersteller für 20mm aufkaufen will. Zumindest wird sich Foundry freuen...

Mir war nicht bekannt, dass sich der WW2 auf die Normandie beschränkt hat Ein Regelwerk für ein neues Spielsystem hätte ich schon weiter gefasst erwartet.

wow, was ne Überaschung. Ob der Preis zu hoch ist oder nicht hängt von davon ab wieviele Fahrzeugprofile im Buch vorhanden sind, wenn es für Normadie einigermaßen komplett ist, ist der Preis meiner Meinung nach ok. Ein paar mehr Details zu den Regeln würden mich allerdings sehr interessieren.

Ich denke mal falls das Buch erfolgreich sein sollte, könnte es auch weitere supplements für andere Kriegsschauplätze in der Zukunft geben.

Die WI hat anscheinend schon 2009 von supplements gesprochen, als das Buch (afaik.) zum ersten mal erwähnt wurde:

absolut ... der preis und umfang muss einem die forgeworld buecher nahelegen .... irgendwann kann man dann sicher auch den 3teiligen badab war world war2 in einer slipcase edition um 120euro kaufen
50+ euronen ... in so einem preissegment stell ich mir buecher in den schrank und les sie gemuetlich im sessel bei gebaeck und tee
ABER ich nehme diese schinken nicht mit auf den spieltisch und blaetter staendig drin rum, lass sie aufgeklappt liegen ... regelwerke sind ne art werkzeug fuer mich, halt fuers spielen

ich halte den release fuer planlos und wunderte mich heute morgen ueberhaupt was von WH im postfach zu haben

Man kann nur hoffen, dass sie seit der etwas mauen VorfĂĽhrung damals nochmal gut an den Regeln gedreht haben. Da ich recht gut bei FoW im Futter stehe, interessiert mich das Buch nur so am Rande.

Was nachfolgende BĂĽcher angeht bin ich seit deren WWI ziemlich vorsichtig geworden.
