This model is from the wonderful Redoubt miniatures range which I\'m very, very fond of and when I saw this I knew I had to have it. The signal flags are hand painted and the model was done mostly with Foundry and Vallejo paints plus some MIG pigments.
Confederate signal corps operated similar to their union counterparts, but with two distinct differences in that they used flags and messengers exclusively as they didn\'t have access to enough telegraph wire and they also included espionage in addition to battlefield missions.
Thanks for viewing! :)

@ Don Voss: Die Dinger waren bis zu 6x6 Fuss, also knapp 2x2 Meter.  Hierzu:

@ Axebraker: A real eyecatcher. Great. Probably without real worth in the used rules, but very atmospheric and a good objective.  :applaus:

Without a question a near perfect piece  :thumbup: , but I have to admit that I dislike the high grass und the trees because its seems bit too unrealistic to me, I mean they were used the same day that they where built, while your interpretation looks more like a garden and not the like a place of hasty and intensive work ;) .

A Masterpiece...again.
And as Thorulf said: what about a yankee pendant ? Maybe a grounded observation balloon :D ?

Thank you everyone for your very nice comments! :D

@Opa and Thorulf

I\'ve thought of making a union one as well with a wagon for the telegraph or something. A Balloon is also a great idea!! 8)

@Don Voss

Yes they were so large as Thorulf kindly showed. They did need to be seen clearly from a distance. ;)

@Robert

The state of vegetation would depend where, when and how the platform was constructed and for how long it had been standing. If for example they built the platform from the trees immediately at the spot of construction for say a hasty set up then yes it would be pretty clear of vegetation as you said. However, let\'s say the holes were pre dug and then logs brought up from below and inserted in holes like this one and the platform had been in service for a period of time say like observing key roads or such then a good amount of vegetation is not only plausible, but reasonably likely.

Looks fantastic, great work. One question, what size are the minis?

Thanks and technically they are supposed to be 28mm, but they are a bit larger then that at something between 30-32mm I\'d say. Redoubt mixes really well with Renegade and Bicorne, but will be too big and bulky to mix with Perry and Foundry so keep the figures in spearate units in this case. ;)

Would make a great DBA Camp. Well done, too. I am particularly interested in military communication techniques, so i liked your little history lesson as well.
