I\'m starting to get the hang of this camara and how to photograph my miniatures now. My wife helped get it in the computer because I\'m a computer moron. :doofy: I\'ll have to do my Old west over again more then likely. These are a few of my miniatures from my Viking Army.I hope you all like them. I plan on trying some more terrain on later for effect.Vikings are my favorite ancient army.I really enjoy their look with axes and beards and also their character in both history and attitude.Again,I hope you like them. :D

Actually I like them very much! Nice Job
Especially the banner is awesome. I\'d like to see more of your miniatures, so please have a heart with your wife

I\'m glad you like them. :D I can do it myself now(gasp, shock). She is a computer programmer and I\'m happy she showed me how.I have progressed and can do it alone now. I will be showing some more in the future. :)

I guess the second picture shows some kind of chieftain or something... is he fixed on that huge base? If so, does it have any effect on the game? I am still collecting/painting and I\'m not yet into the rules, so I wondered about this unfamilar sight.
Congratulations to your advancement

I use these Viking for WAB. ;) The Viking raider on the large base is only a symbolic figure and is not used as an active model in most my games. Some tournement games have required a 40mm x 40mm baggage counter.I used this in a WAB tournement in England this way one time. Most of the time I like to just place him somewhere on my side for looks and intimidation. :evilgrin:And thank you on the advancement. ;) :pump:

They look really great, love the bagge counter.I know the way you based them is because you use them for WAB,but I in my view it spoils a bit the good looks-no offence ;)
-
Thank you,and no offense is taken. They would look better on flat base or diarama, but then I could not use them. :)
-
Well,if I would play WAB I would base most of the minis on multi bases and some on single bases to take casualties/exchange with the multi bases. But that\'s just a personel taste if you\'re satisfied with as it is,well that\'s fine too.
-
you really did a great job on them!

Masterfully executed, axebreaker. Wouldn\'t mind it if the camera would zoom in a bit further next time, but all of them together make a good looking ensemble. Time to pillage and plunder!
-
Nice miniatures, reminds me that I have to paint some more Saxons  .
@ bases
Why don’t you use plastic card bases etc., they look much better than the GW bases and have the same size :) .
-
I find that these are much easier to use and with the magnets on the base it gives more stability. It also easier to remove casualities and mix up your units if need be.For myself I found that these bases work the best for WAB.Single based mini\'s on flat bases tend to run on top of each other easier and the little extra height from GW helps prevent this. Other systems like Guns at Gettysburg and Britsh Grenadier I will use a flat base with 4-6 mini\'s per base for infantry, and flat bases for the the other type of units as well.
