I haven\'t played FoW,but I\'m interested.I haven\'t the time to start an army soon,but next year sometime I think I will.I\'m interested in playing the Germens(love the armour :D ),but it seems to me that they are the most popular and I might find it difficult in finding an opponent.So,I\'m doing a poll to see what are the most popular armies.The first pole will be armies you own(unlimited),and the second will be armies you wish to own(limit 2). :beer:

Brits fore Africa, germans and americans for normandy campaigning.
-
Yeah,I like the Brits too. :) I was thinking about them if there were to many german players. ;) I got time to think it over,and thank you to everyone who takes the time to answer my polls. :D

For King and Country!
-
@Ghib.
I use the same motto,but that\'s for my Royalist army for ECW.
-
@Everyone
I\'m not surprised to see the Germans well out in front at this point, :rolleyes: but I was surprised at the number of people who have collected Italians. :pinch: I\'m glad to see enough American and British are being collected that it\'s still ok for me to collect Germans. :thumbup: I\'m curious to see how the poll will continue to take shape. :beer:
-
The French are missing. :( As usual in such polls. ;)
-
@MacB
The reason I didn\'t include the French is because when I went to the FoW web page I didn\'t see them listed. :rolleyes: They don\'t have the Japanese listed either,but I saw an add for them and some products,so I know they are available. ;) If you can show me where to find the French for FoW then I will add them to the list.If you see anything else missing,then please let me know and I will include them as well. :D

Here are two official late war French briefings:
http://www.flamesofwar.com/Portals/0/Documents/2DBIntelBriefing.pdf
http://www.flamesofwar.com/Portals/0/Documents/FEC%20Intelligence%20Briefing.pdf
The French were reequipped by the US in 1943, so you can easily use nearly all the late war American stuff.
And, by the way, there are NO Japanese miniatures or briefings made by BF.
Maybe there will be some, in the far far future, if and when BF decides to cover the PTO.
-
@MacB
Thanks for the French info. :) I\'ll add the French. ;)
I can\'t remember where I have seen the Japanese mini\'s and brief\'s or who did them,I just remember seeing some information on it. :whistling: Like I said at the beginning of this thread,I\'m interested in playing FoW and decided to run a poll on it.I\'m not the best authority on the subject as far as who made or didn\'t make the briefing\'s or products :rolleyes: ,I\'m sure you and others are better qualified to answer that.I still need to research the game some more. :beer:

HI,
i have German and English Armies for MW and LW.
Greetings
Hotwing
-
I own Germans for Midwar / Eastern front and French for Latewar/ Normandy
-
@Vassell
I don\'t understand why anyone would want to collect French for WW 2, :pinch: but I respect anyone\'s free choice to like what they want. :beer: I\'m glad somebody likes them,because they can give a different look to a campaign. 8)

This poll is interesting,it shows a good balance for interested players. :D The Axis and Allies forces are pretty close in numbers.That\'s very nice,because whatever army you choose,you will stand a good chance to find an player to play against. :thumbup:

That\'s true,but the best way is to collect opposite armies as you can often find people who are interrested in playing but not in buying/painting the stuff.
By the way it`s Germans ;)
-
@Tellus
Oops,thank you,I wasn\'t paying attention,I\'ll change it.(Germans) :oops: Collecting 2 armies is the best way of course if you have time. ;)

I always say:\"Think BIG!\" :D

I collect Brits for Italy and Waffen-Boys for Normandy. As I`m reading a book about Monte Cassino I´m felling very tempted to collect Fallschirmjäger or Gebirgsjäger as well. I´m not sure at the minute.
Cheers
Philip

I am collecting British at the moment. D-Day and Normandy seems to be the setting we are going for.
For a desert setting I am still undecided. The Brits are still very interesting, but I really like the German uniform and look in that setting.
So, my vote would be twofold and I guess that doesn\'t help. :D
EDIT: Sorry... got my WWIIs all mixed up. Corrected now.
-
@Knoedelmeister
I\'m a fan of the Fallschirmjäger as well!Very nice combat history,tough as nails.I \"married\" the ability to have both tanks and Fallschirmjäger in the same list.I\'ll be building a II SS Panzerkompanie with tanks and Fallschirmjäger + some others support.At my club we will be fighting in the Western theater starting with Normandy and going all the way to the finish. :D
-
@Phobos
This thread allows you more then one choice,because it\'s not a wish list and asks what you own.So,if you have both you can check both boxes. :) At the moment I have my german panzers and Fallschirmjägers on the way. :thumbup:
-
Looking forward to seeing you put some paint on them, Axe! I am sure you will impress us (the pressure is on! :D ).
-
@Phobos
Thank you for the vote of confidence :D ,but 15mm is not where I like to put my best work.I think if you put to much detail,it\'s time wasted because nobody looks that close.I\'ll try and do a decent job,but I prefer to reserve more time for 25mm where it will be noticed. ;)
-
Well, 34 Axis armys and 36 Allies. Seems well diversed.
Probably outside of Germany you may find a higher proportion of players with german forces. :rolleyes:
I have both - British and DAK.

@Frank Bauer

Yeah,that\'s good news isn\'t it. :)Good chance whatever you decide to play it shouldn\'t be to hard to find an opponent.Very promising. :thumbup:
\"Probably outside of Germany you may find a higher proportion of players with german forces. \"
Your probably right. :lol: In my club I\'m the only American and I\'m starting the germans and german members are all starting British and American.Go figure. :chinese:
