The 4th Texas Regiment
« am: 04. Februar 2013 - 09:29:33 »

The 4th Texas regiment was organized in Richmond, Virginia in 1861 from various companies that made the journey from Texas to
Virginia. Like therest of the Texas Brigade these were elite rock hard fighting men from a brigade that can arguably be called the best
in the American Civil War.They included some colourful companies like \"the Robertson Five Shooters\" and \"the Lone Star Guards\", and
\"the Mustang Greys\" to name a few of the 10 companies that made up the regiment.

The figures themselves are from Redoubt which is my favourite ACW figure range in spite of the often arduous amount of clean up
needed on some of them. I just really like the look of the figures and the extra touch of silver stars added to the hats of the models
which the Texas brigade really did have and so is not a gimmick.

I painted the figures using mostly Foundry paints and some Vallejo. The flag is from the wonderful GMB. I opted for the battle flag
as the state flags usually remained in camp.

Thanks for viewing! :)

Great work! I start my own acw-project. I love this epoch. I want to see more :-)
Which colors from Vallejo have you used?
At this time i`m looking for matching blue and brown colors for my Confederate.

Which rulebook do you use?

Which colors from Vallejo have you used?
The white(pale blue grey/white), basing, Yellow blond hair(German camo Orange), red leather and gun metal, German Grey highlight on black is Vallejo and everything else is Foundry.

Zitat
Which rulebook do you use
I have several in mind, but Black Powder and the upcoming Longstreet will likely see the most action.

I am not very interested in the ACW but those guys look very nice indeed. Good job!. The choice of colours, contrast achieved and composition of miniatures on the base is very good. There is a lot going on and I love all the details.

@Greymouse

Yes indeed, that\'s one of the several I had in mind as I own the rules. I\'ll try Regimental Fire and Fury as well, but I suspect Black Powder for it\'s ease of play and Longstreet for it\'s unique approach of campaigning the period will likely see the most action. FYI Lorenzo is also talking about making a new ACW game that\'s based off of the Impetus system. As with figures we are spoiled for choice for rules when it comes to the ACW. :)
