@Crusader

Very nice! :thumbup: Scots are a very good choice for two reasons.First is that they fought for both sides and this makes finding a game easier.The second is it\'s easier to paint the army,because of uniformity. ;) When I first started collecting miniatures for ECW,I was torn between English Royalists or Montroses Scott Royalists. :fie: In the end,I went with English Royalists,but I hear the bagpipes sounding and you never know just maybe I will still collect a Montrose Scott Royalist army in addition to my English Royalist one. :evilgrin:

Where do you live?If I ever get around to painting my army,perhaps we could have a game. :rolleyes: I\'m in the middle of painting Fire and Fury ACW and about to start a BG AWI American army,but I would like to paint some of my ECW as well.I\'m a typical wargamer in that I have too many projects and not enough time :gamer: .Anyways,it\'s nice to hear someone is interested, :phatgrin: and your right the frame guns are nice! :)

Cheers

I live in Lower Bavaria....Straßkirchen (near Straubing if you know that)....and I know your problem, because I am the only one in our wargaming club that is interested in \"boring\" historical wargaming :phatgrin: ....

as desired my lord :D ....one thing about the movie....it`s an old movie (around 1970 or so :thumbsup: )....so don`t expect super special effects...apart from that it´s one of my favourite movies :)

Alot of the best war films were made in 1970\'s and earlier. ;) Look in the Films and Publications part of the forum and there is a thread on The Best War Films ever made.I answered with a list of over 20 films in which alot of earlier films are in there. :thumbup: If you haven\'t seen Waterloo(I think in the 70\'s,maybe 60\'s) then your missing out. :) Rod Steiger is so convincing as Napoleon,that whenever you think of Napoleon then you\'ll think of him. ;)

Hey Axebreaker, et al. Inspired by this thread my dreams of collecting an ECW army become more and more real. I like the Renegade Range since I met in another forum Doschi. In my opinion he is one of the most inspired painters of this period I know. Just have a look on his side especially \"Der englische Bürgerkrieg\": http://www.historische-militärfiguren.de/

Maybe early 2009 I will start a small project.

The above cited film, Cromwell, is a must be. Really good.

Was für Modelle hast Du denn da ? Mir gefallen nämlich nicht alle. Können ja gegen GB byzantinische Reiter tauschen. :phatgrin:

@thrifles

He is very inventive with his scenery and has some nice bases,and very nice photography. :thumbup: With that said,the painting is only average. :|

As far as the models are concerned,I\'m a Foundry and Perry die hard fan. :borg: So,it comes as no surprise when I say I prefer their miniatures to the ones given by you. :rolleyes:

Still,I don\'t mind what gets you interested in ECW,just as long as it does get you interested. ;) :D That would be great if you started collecting ECW. :thumbsup: Are you a Cavalier or Roundhead? :rolleyes:

I do have miniatures for my ECW/TYW army from Perry and Renegade mainly, some Foundry, Bicorne and 1st Corps as well. Perry and Foundry are different concerning style and size. I do not mix them within one unit but they are okay mixed on the same side I would say. Perry mix well with Foundry although Foundry does produce different sculpts concerning size and style themselves. Renegade mix well with Bicorne and TAG because they were all sculpted by Nick Collier (however he is spelled). Redoubt does also produce nice ECW minis, concerning size the are somewhat in the middle between the above stated.

Perry are brilliantly sculpted with fine details and very nice, expressive faces/heads. Renegade is a bolder approach, some rougher details, but perhaps easier to paint because of that. So I prefer Perry but because I want to use my minis for the TYW as well I will add more TAG minis in the future I guess.

Hello Holger,

Nice to see your back! 8o I thought you might have lost interest in sweetwater. :rolleyes:

All my ECW miniatures are Foundry because I like them alot and I bought them when they gave some price deals. :thumbup: Now I have a larger army then I probely really need. :rolleyes: I have looked at the Renegade line and they are nice,but if I buy anymore ECW miniatures then I\'ll go with Perry\'s as they are the best for the very same reasons you gave. :pump:

Please send some more pictures if you have completed any new ones.Your mini\'s always look very nice. :thumbup:

I have some more painted miniatures which I took pictures of but probably not posted on my website yet. Also some minis finished but not photographed and 12 horse on my painting table nearly finished. So you will see some more in the near future. Due to a lot of work I don\'t have much time for the hobby left so right now I am concentrating of painting, not taking pictures, posting on my site or in forums ;( . But at some time I will do that again more regulary.

Some of my minis are in the current issue of Wargames Illustrated on a spread page, quite proud of it :thumbsup: :pump:

Some more will appear in a still secret project hopefully soon!

Next up are Perry ACW, couldn\'t resist!
