@ Murphy: Das mit den Hautpartien werde ich mir überlegen, könnte aber am Zeitfaktor scheitern. Vielleicht werde ich sie auch stärker washen, um die Kontraste stärker herauszubringen. Gerade dann könnte ich aber auf den von Dir vorgeschlagenen Highlight zurückkommen, damit die Haut nicht zu dunkel wird.

@ Antipater: Ich base für British Grenadier, möchte aber auch für WAB AWI flexibel sein, falls und wenn es kommen sollte (oder ich mir selber etwas zusammen reimen sollte). Mit dieser Basierung bekomme ich gewissermaßen das beste von beiden Welten. Ein Bonus ist, dass sich die Modelle einzeln besser bemalen lassen. Sonst müsste ich sie nach dem Bemalen basen, und das vermeide ich lieber (ich habe panische Angst davor, frisch bemalte Figuren mit Leim und Sand zu versauen).

@ Christopher: The shine is a problem, even though I didn\'t use Armypainter but GW washes (ogryn flesh for skins, devlan mud for wood and badab black for the rest). It\'s more flexible for my purposes than Armypainter, comes in handier quantities and gives less shine. The problem is that I\'m stuck with GW matt varnish and Armypainter matt varnish. The latter seems to be a slight improvement, but I\'m still not satisfied. Any attempts to lay my hands on Testor\'s Dullcoat have been futile so far. Any tips or suggestions for alternatives will be greatly appreciated!

The other thing is that the pictures didn\'t work out as planned. You\'ve seen the british regiments in person and would probably agree that they appear much less shiny on the tabletop than they look in my pictures.

I use GW satin and it works for me.Don\'t spray to close or too long as that can also give a shine,but controlled bursts at a diatance work well for me. ;)
