Warlord Games: BAM Pacific Wars [28mm]

Zitat
All that European war stuff may all be well and good (and it is!) but it’ time to branch out and as we’ve had stacks of requests for this theatre – it’s time to unveil our latest Bolt Action range – War in the Far East! We’re kicking this great new range off next month with our US Marine Corps.
Below are but a few examples from the new range.
As you can see the miniatures have plenty of dynamism as you’d expect from Warlord sculpts. This range is, as all new Bolt Action ranges are, using the Warlord Figure Head System of separate heads. As you know, this allows you loads of variety in your army.
This is just the start of things to come as we’ll be adding a lot more to the War in the East range – the British Chindits are all sculpted and off to the painters and the Japanese are looking superb. There’s lots more to come as well in the future – we intend for this to be a comprehensive range coverning the Pacific, Burma, etc.
The US Marine Corps range will be launched in early November so you won’t have long to wait!

@Robert E. Lee

Ich weiss was du meinst... die Köpfe wirken irgendwie flach. Vielleicht liegt es aber auch an der Photographie. Die Photos sehen komisch aus.

What the hell is wrong with Warlord sometimes? You know they could afford to hire a decent painter. :sm_pirat_confused: The painting is so bad it\'s really hard to judge the product. :sm_pirate_stumm: If this was the best painted mini\'s they could get, then they would be better off showing the models unpainted! sm_party_graete It quite sad as they probably would look decent if they bothered to paint them right.

Christopher

P.S.If I offended the painter then I\'m quite sorry, but these are not professional standards that one would expect from this company.

They advertise their ECW and Ancient ranges with dipped miniatures, not a big gap if you ask me  :whistling:  .

Nothing wrong with dipped miniatures if they are painted cleanly and highlighted nicely so the overall appearance is effective. ;) Saxon Dog and Warlords Romans are proof of that. These however above just look messy and badly blended and not painted with any care.That\'s what I meant when I said sometimes Warlord advertises badly painted miniatures that would be better off shown unpainted like those above.

Christopher, I know what you mean. I think their biggest mistake is, that Paul Swayer does in hiw photos in a white box with flash and a total zoom. This is why the details look so washed or unclean, it\'s the same with my polaks on their site. I saw the miniatures of big-Gaza (the painter\'s name) in flesh at Salute, and they looked very good.

I see, well then Paul needs to step aside and let someone who knows how to photograph miniatures get the job done right.I\'m very surprised this issue has not been worked out within the company yet. :sm_pirat_confused:

USMC pre-order special!

Last
week we unveiled a preview of our forthcoming US Marine Corps boxed
set. This will be the start of our War in the Far East range and you’ve
certainly been excited about them! So much so that we’ve decided to run
a very limited offer to allow you to get your hands on them early.

US Marine Corps contains:
• Command: Officer, Radio Operator, Stretcher Bearer, US Navy Corpsman and US Marine casualty

• USMC squad: Squad Leader with M1 Carbine, 2 NCOs with Thompson SMGs, 1 Marine with combat shotgun,

1 Marine with BAR and 5 riflemen.

• Marine with flamethrower

• 60mm mortar team

• 2-man .30 Cal LMG team

We won’t be releasing this boxed set until mid-November but if you
pre-order the box or take advantage of our Sergeant Rock deal we’ll
send them to you early.

This offer is strictly limited to orders made during the rest of
October so you only have until Monday 1st November starts to get your
US Marines early. We’ll start sending pre-orders out on Monday so
you’ll have them in your hands well in advance of those lightweights
who prefer to wait for the official release…

The offers are as follows:

USMC Pre-order deal: Buy a single box of US Marines by pre-order for just £25 and they’ll be despatched early week commencing 1st November

THE US MARINE CORPS ROCKS pre-order deal: This
special offer is for two boxes of US Marines and not only will it be

FREE.

Don’t hang around though – the offers ends at the end of October!

I think they might be trying to reassure less practised painters by showing rather \"average\" paint-jobs. Sometimes you see a miniature painted by a gifted Golden Demon champion and you might think: Why bother? That, as a concept, is quite noble and kind. Still, after I read what Regulator said, it is pretty obvious that the photography is definitely not helping. You got pixely colour transitions and a weird resolution that probably cannot do justice to a better looking miniature.
