Chindit Close Quarter Fighters Tough men doing a tough job, the Chindits took the war behind Japanese lines. Cut off and surrounded they fought at close quarters, things becoming quite medieval at times. This pack has four Chindits getting up close and personal, fighting with clubbed rifle, machete and bayonets. Chindit 3âł Mortar Team The standard 3 inch mortar supported the British army in all theatres of war. This Chindit mortar has three crew. Chindit Vickers HMG Team One of the oldest and best serving weapons of the British Commonwealth armies, the Heavy Vickers machine gun on tripod served through both World Wars and even on past Korea. Reliable and accurate, Warlordâs Chindit machine gun team is just what the doctor ordered to support the infantry platoons as they advance. Carry on sergeant.. Chindit Mule Team Chindits used long suffering mules to carry their heavy weapons and supplies in their arduous marches behind the lines, This pack has a Chindit handler and a very stubborn mule. Chindit Specialists Three Specialists to help the Chindits bust bunkers, tanks or even boats on occasion! Chindits travelled light, but with the help of their faithful mules, and airdrops, they could pack a bunch with some heavier weapons if needs be. Our specialists are armed with a bunker-busting PIAT, a Boyes anti-tank rifle to take out light armoured vehicles and a Flame Thrower, a devastating weapon in the dense jungle. Chindit Characters Major-General Orde Wingate is quite possibly the most eccentric character from the Second World War. He would carry an onion around his neck that he would bite into as a snack and often went without clothing. Major Bernard Fergusson served in the Black Watch before being given command of the 16th Infantry Brigade which was to be converted into a Chindits formation to operate deep behind the Japanese lines. George Albert Cairns won the Victoria Cross after he was attacked by a Japanese officer who with his sword all but hacked off the lieutenantâs left arm. The latter killed the officer, picked up the sword and continued to lead his men, slashing left and right with the captured sword, killing and wounding several of the enemy before he himself fell to the ground. This action so inspired his comrades that the Japanese were completely routed, a very rare occurrence at that time Chindit ReinforcementsIf by some miracle none of these lovely support packs catch your eye because youâre super choosy â youâre in luck.
