US Airborne for Disposable Heroes(Update 02.05.11)
« am: 19. MĂ€rz 2011 - 03:22:48 »

This is my first squad for my US Airborne Disposable Heroes project.
They are Artizan miniatures and very fun to paint as is the case with
all Artizan miniatures.

The goal was to get a platoon painted up and playing in a short time and
so I used army painter. However, please remember I added a couple of
highlights to these and so they are in effect fully painted miniatures.I
skipped adding any identifying patches as that would add quite a bit of
time to the painting process.

I went with the early paratroop uniform that was used right up to D-Day
as I like the light shade and varying tones to include the patches at
the joints. This was because the material was quite thin and so the
para\'s added extra padding to the parts that wear and tear the quickest.
I plan on building some terrain at some point as well for this.

Thank you as always for viewing. :sm_pirate_smile:

Sargeant with M1 Carbine and Troopers with M1 Garand\'s part of Rifle Section

Troopers with M1 Garand\'s(one will get replaced with a BAR in the future) part of Rifle Section

LMG section to include Corporal with Thomson, Trooper,LMG .30 cal gunner, Assistant Gunner

Looking good, Christopher!

You did a great job on the uniform color!

I once owned these minis too, but traded them away unpainted, wich is a shame, because as you say they are very nice!

Awesome work... again... No doubt that they would win the war.
I love everything about them... very nice contrasts, smooth highlights with very good choice of colours, wonderful base-desgin... Although I don\'t like 28mm for WW2 in general... I think they look to \"round\"... I guess it\'s because I\'m so used to 20mm WW2.
Nevertheless: AWESOME!! Keep going!!

Thank you guys. :)

Frank the offensive miniatures do look very good, but they also are quite expensive and all the detail is not very painter friendly. They look more for dioramas then for armies.

I like Artizan\'s slightly cartoonish look as it really adds character in my opinion. I really like Artizan and Coppelstone style of miniatures as they have enough detail that they look the part and the surfaces are easy to access making them some of the most painter friendly armies on the market. Simply put they are just fun paint and stress free and are my top choices to pick.

Frank, ich gebe Dir 100% Recht! Die Figuren sind klasse, aber wirklich noch nicht so bekannt. Eventuell ist es der Preis. Aber die sind echt schön.

They do look really nice, great job.
But I would think about adding some decals : http://homepage.mac.com/brentdietrich/decals.htm
as that would make them perfect
