Der GrĂŒnder der Firma auf warseer:
\" Hi,
I\'d like to introduce myself:
I\'m Fabio the owner of the new
Wargaming Miniature Comany, Fireforge Games and i\'m happy to answer some
questions appeared in this post.
About \"decorated\" helmets and their
historical use by the Teutonic Knights:
\"Decorated\" helmets are historically
correct, they really existed. There are a lot of paintings of the period
(12th,13th and early 14th century) both on books as well as church walls/windows
and knight tombs showing us several type of \"decorated\" helmets.
The
question about their utilization in real combat is still a debate among
historians. I have read several books, historical documents and sources about
Teutonic Knights and their armour and the most accepted conclusions of the
historians on the matter, nowadays, are the following:
Teutonic Knights
during their early history, late 12th and 13th century, fought on two crusading
war front, The Holy Land and Northern Europe/Baltic region. In the Holy Land
they most probably never used decorated helmets neither in battle or parade
while they used them even in battle in Europe, in particular during the 13th
century.
The reason they started using \"decorated/horned\" helmets in
battle in the Baltic regions is that they faced tribes of pagan/barbarian types
of enemies like the Prussians and Sarmogitans. The \"decorated/horned\" helmets
were used as intimidations against these warrior tribes who through their pagan
beleifs were seeing Teutonic Knights like incarnation of the Devil (at the very
first at least

).
After that period \"decorated\"
helmets were not used anymore in battle and used only on
parade/ceremonies.
Anyway, there\'s no helmet problem about our Teutonic
Knights box. There are going to be 10 different helmet types in the box, in two
sections. You\'ll have 20 hemlets in total for 12 knights to assemble. You\'ll
have 12 \"decorated\" types and 8 \"undecorated\" ones. If you want to assemble all
the \"undecorated\" ones, you can use the 8 straight out of the box and cut off
the \"horns\" of other four. Some of the \"decorated\" types were sculpted with easy
cut off option in mind.

I want to thank you all for your
interest in our miniatures. We are all passioned wargamers here and we are very
excited by our adventure. We can\'t wait to field our Teutonic Knights on the
field and making some glorious charge with them.
Our project is not
limited to this release only, of course. We\'ll make a complete range as a
starting point and there are going to be 4 more plastic releases after the
Teutonics at least. We aim at creating a \"gaming system\" too for the Medieval
period, in the future and we are working on it right now.
I\'ll follow
this post and if have any question don\'t hesitate to ask.
I could not be able
to ask to everything at the moment but i\'ll do my best.
