This is a hard one.The best war film ever made.It\'s way to hard to say.I\'ll give a list of the best war films ever made.The order is random as it is too difficult to call,but all are outstanding.

Note:I\'ve listed alot,but I believe all these films could be supported by anyone as the best war film ever made.

I listed Gladiator as a war film when perhaps it would be better described as an epic adventure.The reason it was listed, is the opening battle scene between the Romens and the Germens was first rate in showing the brutal conditions, weapons,and tactics used at the time.Also, it had a massive impact in drawing people into the period through television and wargaming.

The reason why I gave an explanation on Gladiator is many other posts listed films that were not war movies,but movies with a historical background setting.

Wieso? Die italienischen Divisionen haben Rommel eben tagelang den Rücken freigehalten und sind dann aufgerieben worden.
Ich rede ja nicht von den Deutschen die da vorkommen mit von wegen \"soviele Panzer wie die Briten Kanonen\" usw. :)
Für mich ist der Film halt gut, da er von den Italienern ein realistisches historisches Gesamtbild dieser einen Schlacht abgibt.
Die Tommies haben sich da nunmal an Italienern mit nicht mehr zeitgemäßer Ausrüstung eine blutende Nase geholt.
Klar gibt es bessere Filme, aber ich kenne keinen Film der im Zweiten Weltkrieg spielt wo die Italiener ausführlich UND relistisch behandelt werden, außer diesem.

Die Duellisten (Keith Karradine, Harvey Keitel), Paramount 1977.

2 Napoleonische Französische Offiziere duellieren sich 15 Jahre lang immer wieder, bei jeder Gelegenheit.

Sehr sehenswert und spannend-unterhaltsam.
