[Axebreaker]

I\'ve finally started my Impetus Aztec army as I felt this is the perfect year to do so with the heavy Mesoamerican mythology prevalent in the news,discussions and programs this year.
The unit presented here is of Eagle Warriors or rather Eagle knights advancing through some ruins directed by their captain which may be familiar to those who have followed my blog as I originally did him as a single model. The ornate back banner was something worn only by captains/leaders and was a conversion piece with the banner coming standard and the banner bracket holder self made along with the small platform and stairs which are also self made.
The Figures are from Foundry\'s discontinued Mesoamerican range of which I still don\'t know why they have done so. Happily I\'ve been able to acquire what I need both before and after they stopped the range.
I\'ll be adding the Spanish for sure and maybe the Inca at some point.

Zu den Figuren ( in Deutsch da wahrscheinlich Axebreakers deutsche LesefÀhigkeit besser ist als mein englisches Schreiben ) ...
Wunderschöne Komposition, die bunten Krieger, die gestaltete Base und die Treppenruine ... ingesamt das schönste Impetusbase das ich bisher gesehen habe, ich hoffe davon kommt noch viel mehr :thumbsup:

Da bekommt man fast Lust ein paar abgewrackte Conquistadoren dagegenzusetzten

btw. Von welchem Hersteller sind die Miniaturen ?

The base (and the miniatures of course!) looks really splendid. One day I might try Impetus just for the aspect of making little dioramas...

The Figures are Foundry and the base size is the standard 12x6 for 28mm as was kindly explained for me.

No problem, I always welcome a nice critique.
The reason for the number of figures per base is my understanding that the Aztecs fought in a loose formation due to terrain and the objective to secure captives and not lock shields or group too closely thus preventing free movement of their weapons to enable this. I also wanted to show them as an elite formation and therefore fewer in numbers then the common warriors which I\'ll be bumping up to about 9 per base. It\'s my interpretation and I could of course be wrong.

Fantastisch! Ich finde zwar, dass Azteken sich eher fĂŒr ein Skirmish eignen, aber die Figuren sehen wirklich großartig aus.

Extrem bunt und cartoonig, aber mir gefÀllt es! Ich male ja gerade selber Inder an, und bin ein Fan von aggressiven Farben (Kommentar eines Reviewers: \"Deine Elefanten sehen mehr nach Bollywood als nach Krieg aus...\" :rolleyes: ).
Ich finde auch gut, dass die Farbvielfalt auch auf der Base weitergeht und freue mich weitere Minis aus diesem Projekt zu sehen.  :thumbup:

Wirklich klasse. Find die Anzahl der Figuren genau richtig, verstÀrkt den Eindruck der Leibwache, die um den \"General\" strömt. Passt einfach besser zum \"Diorama Effekt\".

freue mich weitere Minis aus diesem Projekt zu sehen.

Thanks and there will be more over the year, but it should be noted this project is more of painting challenge then an actual gaming one and so I have no rush to finish it any time real soon and so I don\'t know how frequent the updates will come. Updates could be often or quite some time in between I\'ll just have to see how the mood and time takes me.
