Hallo zusammen,

wie ich auf der Action von den Worean-Jungs erfahren habe, gibt es auf der Wildenburg, in der wunderschönen Nordeifel, dieses Jahr definitiv wieder ein Impetus-Turnier, diesmal, wie erhofft in 28 mm. Den Flyer gibts auf der Worean-Seite, die aber leider im Moment im Umbau ist, daher hÀnge ich den mal lieber hier an.

Voraussichtlich ist eine Turnierteilnahme wie letztes Jahr an die Nutzung der Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten gekoppelt, da die aber relativ gĂŒnstig und mit Vollpension war, sollte man sich davon nicht abschrecken lassen, ebenso wie von dem Begriff Turnier! Letztes Mal war das eher ein lustiger Spieltag bei dem man von den doch etwas versierteren italienischen Spielern viel lernen konnte.

Es wÀre schön dieses Jahr ein paar neue Impetus-Spieler dabei zu haben, da dieses wunderbare Spiel bei uns eher ein völlig unverdientes Nischendasein in unserem nicht gerade Breiten-Hobby zu fristen scheint! So wie es aussieht werden wohl auch wieder Lorenzo mit Freunden erwartet.

Jetzt muss ich nur noch schnell eine Armee bis September auf die Platte bringen, zum GlĂŒck sind es ja nur 300 Punkte...

Genau, ich finde auch so ein nĂ€her rĂŒckender Termin hilft einem sich endlich mal ans Werk zu geben! Allerdings habe ich jetzt schon meinen dritten Anlauf genommen, und eine neue Armee (Later Macedonians) angefangen!

Als Tipp, schau dir (falls du das nicht lĂ€ngst schon gemacht hast) mal Lorenzos Turnierregeln 2012 an, da gibts bei 300 Punkten neue Regeln zur Armeezusammenstellung. Und die Italiener waren letztes Jahr alle mit Rolls of Destiny ausgerĂŒstet!

Mal sehen, wann Worean bezĂŒglich der Anmeldung und der Details mal was verlautet...

Yes indeed! The problem for me is building entire 28mm armies from scratch is very, very difficult. I can do about one or two armies of this size a year maximum and I already have plans in ACW , some Montrose Scots ECW, F&IW, WWII etc. I might do the Aztecs, but they are quite difficult and require a large number making them unlikely. I thought about Italian Wars, but they suffer they same problem as the Atzecs. Samurai is another thought, but again very high difficulty level makes it unlikely. ;( I\'m leaning towards converting my Trojans or Praetorian Romans or El Cid to Impetus giving me a realistic chance to finish without becoming overly stressed as I would with the others. I\'ll have to \"chew\" it over for awhile.
For this tournament I would have preferred 15mm as I already have two armies for that, but I think I have a chance to complete a 28mm army by converting one of the existing ones I have painted up already.

It\'s not 500pts. but 300pts and beta lists are allowed for armies not covered in supplements as far as I know.

Hi everybody. Yes I plan to come again with some friends from Italy. Last year it was very nice!

Just a quick suggestion if you are looking for a fast to paint army in 28mm: The Teutonic Order.
The list is in the rulebook and it very expensive in points.

With the new tournament rules at 300pts you have to halve the maxima so you can field only 2 Teutonic Knight Units but their cost is 90 pts, so a 1/3 of the army.
Keeping the list as cheaper and with few figures as possibile you can add 4 Crusader Knights (116pts), 1 compulsory Knechte (16pts), 1 compulsory Livonian Horse Archers (27pts), 1 compulsory Turkopolen (19pts), command structure (12pts) and an Average leader (20pts) and you have 300pts.

Knights can be take from plastic range by FireForge.

Bring whatever army you like, as long as you join the tournament!
Instead of Great Italian Wars you could choose the earlier version and use the Perry WotR-Boxes, at least the MAA are not that time-consuming to paint!
(although the infantry might be a different cattle of fish)

BTW 28 mm seems to be much more popular for Impetus in Germany, an to be honest, if you want to interest new players a nicely painted 28 mm army does the trick much better than those tiny 15 mm gnomes they\'ll use in the FOG tournament next door :sm_pirate_devil:

I do both scales and I don\'t completely agree with that statement. It\'s your opinion that more play 28mm in Germany, but our entire group plays 15mm and some 28mm for Impetus.
It is true a 28mm army does looks better then a 15mm army ........if it\'s painted very nice that is, otherwise you easily see a badly painted one and then that looks much worse then an equally badly painted 15mm.
15mm gives you an army appearance better then 28mm IMHO because you still retain enough detail to see the figures while still giving the effect of mass as more figures are used and in smaller area.
15mm armies are easier to complete and still look good while 28mm takes quite a bit longer to do if want to maintain good standards.
As Impetus has improved the look of 28mm armies it also has improved the look of 15mm armies as well and a nicely based and painted 15mm looks great and shouldn\'t be dismissed as you can do quite a bit with it with Impetus basing unlike the regimented FOG basing you were mentioning.
I was just commenting 15mm is easier to build and truth be told also plays more \"fair\" then the 28mm version as the movement to table size suggestions given in the rulebook for 28mm are too small.
All that said I\'m open to both scales and happily play either one as I\'m a fan of both!

no offence meant! :blush2:

I like playing and especially painting 15 mm very much, in fact I usually only play and paint 15 mm, also for Impetus!
But after having not that many Impetus players for the 15 mm tournament last year, we decided to have a try in 28 mm this time.

It just seems like Impetus is the ideal excuse for doing something in 28 mm without having to mortgage your house, and also an ideal excuse for finally succumbing to the need to buy some boxes of all the new fantastic plastic stuff, like the Fireforge knights Lorenzo mentioned (no, I must be strong!).
