Warlord Games buy BEF Miniatures!

We’re delighted to be able to announce that Warlord Games have purchased BEF Miniatures from owner and designer, Ian Crouch.

This move allows us to bring the early stages of World War II to our customers with the intention to not only extend the great 28mm range Ian has built but also take it to a new level.

With dozens of vehicles and a range of miniatures covering British, German and Belgian armies BEF meshes very well with our existing Bolt Action range which, whilst predominantly focusing on the late war, has French and Polish ranges for the early war. Expect all nationalities to see new releases before too long as Ian will continue to make vehicles for the range and we already have several almost ready to release!As you’ll appreciate moving a large range of miniatures, masters, moulds, etc will impact on production and as a result the BEF website has been taken offline. As soon as we’re able you’ll start to see the BEF range appear on the Warlord Games webstore and, of course, you’ll hear all about it first in our weekly email newsletter. The sooner the better as we’re all very excited about this new line.

 
For the late war and Pacific fans amongst you, never fear – we’ll continue to bring you loads of new goodies! We have plenty coming through at the moment and the pace won’t slacken due to the BEF acquisition!

We’d like to thank Ian for not only his boundless enthusiasm for the period but the gentlemanly way he’s conducted business in closing this deal. Not bad for a soft Southerner…

So super finde ich das nicht, einfach mal schauen was noch daraus wird bleibt die Devise  .

Ich bin auch nicht so begeistert von Warlord, lange Wartezeiten, unvollständige Lieferungen, kein Ersatz geschweige denn überhaupt Antworten auf emails wegen fehlender Sachen. Service sieht meines Erachtens anders aus. Wenn die sich jetzt schon so verhalten, dass der einzelne Kunde nicht zählt, sondern nur in der Masse, wie verhalten sie sich dann erst mit zunehmender Monopolstellung. Ich bin auch gegen die Kartellbildung im Wargaming.

Ich sehe das so: stimmt natĂĽrlich, je kleiner die Firma, desto Service.

Aber: der eine oder andere dicke Fisch in dieser unserer Nische, der das Ganze fĂĽr die Masse ein bisschen wahrnehmbarer macht und Leute anlockt, kann auch nicht schaden (siehe Battlefront).

I think it\'s good if the service and prices remain equally good. So far the prices are good, but the service hasn\'t been great with some orders taking quite some time, however that was during a free postage offer and so they could have been swamped. I hope this will be good.

@Axebreaker: Free postage is standard now, isn\'t it? That has almost tempted to buy some stuff from them a while ago. I never heard about bad service, so what I\'m reading here really puts me off...

Bisher kamen Lieferungen immer pünktlich und Antworten auch recht schnell. Nur bei den großen Events und bei besonderen Deals kann es etwas länger dauern, da sie da immer etwas unterbesetzt sind oder teilweise deutlich mehr Nachfrage als Lagerbestand haben.

Ich sags ja nicht gerne, aber wenn histisches TT mal größer werden soll, dann wird das wohl über eine Art GW laufen und wenn, dann hat jetzt Warlord dazu das Potential.

Damit das Warlord sein Angebot vergrößert hab ich kein Problem.
Auch die bisherigen Ăśbernahmen sind ja recht gut und fix eingegliedert worden.
Besser so, als wenn eine kleine Firma mit wenigen, spezielleren Minis irgendwann vom Markt verschwindet, weil sie hopps geht.

Ich sehs daher eher auch als eine Art der Bestandessicherung an.

To be honest I don\'t know if free postage is standard now as most of the stuff Warlord sells isn\'t in the sphere of the models I buy. I bought some vehicles through a friend and it took quite some time before they arrived and so this is where my opinion comes from.

Wir haben auf der Salute schon eine gesagt, dass viele von den kleinen Herstellern an einen Punkt kommen wo sie es nicht mehr nebenbei betreiben können, aber noch nicht davon leben können. Dann stellt sich die Frage dazukaufen und reichtig groß werden (Gripping Beast, Warlord, Courteys) oder verkaufen damit man sich wieder auf den Haupspaß das Modellieren konzentrien kann. Lieber so als dass Ranges verschwinden.
