None taken. Like I said, I play both scales.

But after having not that many Impetus players for the 15 mm tournament last year, we decided to have a try in 28 mm this time.

I don\'t think the scale is the issue, but rather Impetus had not built up it\'s player base sufficiently in Germany yet. I \'ve already acquired 4 new players for Impetus by doing a demo in Erlangen and running a session at my home, but they are primarily 15mm players that are coming over from Armati and FOG. They said at their clubs they are going to push for a switch to Impetus as they really liked how it played. The base is growing! I\'ll see if I can get some of them to do a 28mm army and come along, but I cannot promise at that scale.

It just seems like Impetus is the ideal excuse for doing something in 28
mm without having to mortgage your house, and also an ideal excuse for
finally succumbing to the need to buy some boxes of all the new
fantastic plastic stuff, like the Fireforge knights Lorenzo mentioned
(no, I must be strong!).

Very true, but 28mm just still takes time to do even at the numbers Lorenzo mentioned if you want a decent looking army. Just ask of players you know who collect and paint 28mm figures how many of them have a fully painted 28mm armies ready to go. A whole lot of broken dreams down that road.
Please bear in mind I\'m only trying to give perspective and fully support this event will do my best not only to take part, but attract other players as well.
Either way it will be fun!

Concerning broken dreams in 28mm I think I might have an idea what you mean... :whistling:
I really hope to get at least one Impetus army in 28 mm ready this time (and in time for the WoCo!). Even at my painting rate it should work out, I just have to stay away from my Xbox and not to switch my army every 4 completed bases But compared to your miniatures, I fear my paintjob won\'t be half as decent :sm_pirate_frown:

Thanks for the compliment.

My only advice is make sure you pick an army you really like to help keep you at the painting desk and not one just because it\'s cheap or useful.

It\'s now very likely I\'ll go and I\'m even looking at at place to stay for the weekend. Anybody have any recommendations for a hotel at a reasonable price and near the event please?

Wie steht es denn aktuell mit Samurai? Gibt es eine offizielle Liste, bzw ist die Liste von der Webseite noch aktuell und wĂ€re Sie fĂŒrs Turnier zugelassen?

Hello Christopher,

for attending the tournament it might be required to to book the whole package at Worean, since the location (the Wildenburg) is kind of a youth hostel, last year it was for 2 nights and six meals (1-3-2) about 80 EUR including the tournament, accomodations and food were okay and everybody playin in the tournaments won a price, so as far as I can tell it is a good price, and your staying in a genuine 13th century castle!

The rules have arrived by post yesterday (together with all supplements - it\'s Easter after all  :whistling: ) and I\'m prepared to join the battle. I\'ll probably try to finish and bring my Perry Koreans - an interesting list and above all beautiful figures  :sm_pirat:

Sehr schön, dann werde ich anpeilen meine Samurai bis dahin fertig zu bekommen, mit einem konkreten Ziel vor Augen wird das auch eher was.

Sehr interessant, weil ich - so wie es derzeit aussieht - in meinem Urlaub wahrscheinlich nicht all zu weit entfernt sein werde. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, meine Römer mit zu nehmen (oder die Kreuzzugstruppe, die bis dahin fertig sein sollte) und einfach mal reinzuschnuppern.
