Napoleon at War
Axebreaker:
--- Zitat ---That is something that rarely happens because of economic reasons. Wargamers are flighty and have a short span of attention
. Most companies prefer the safe-selling mainstream conflicts even
though the profit margin gets thinner due to the overcrowding of the
market.

I agree and fully understand why, but some periods I\'m surprised more has not been seen. For example:
Crusades both in the Holy Land and in the North
Medieval Japan all periods
Steppe hordes vs everyone
Italian Wars
Byzantine and their enemies
Fortunately for myself Impetus covers everything above which makes me happy, :D but I\'m surprised specialized games for these haven\'t been exploited yet.

Probably because these scenarios are perceived as settings in a shield-spear-sword-bow-combat era, which makes it sufficient to create a basic mechanism of rules and units\' abilities and to add some special rules where required. Thus you get a system, where Mycenaean chariot hordes can battle late medieval knights ... and win... sm_party_box

Perhaps, but again I\'m surprised nobody has made any stand alone rules for each period individually. Each one of those could include a huge array of troops, rules scenario\'s etc. by themselves without mixing periods at all. All are very recognizable in the mainstream except perhaps Byzantines and Italian Wars.

This usually only happens where the player pool is very small. As a rule set grows and the player pool increases this happens less and less often as generally players prefer historical or plausible match ups. ;) Anyhow, period specific rules avoid this and is also part of why I\'m surprised some serious attempts have not been made yet in what I\'ve listed or others except the usual suspects that Grimnir mentioned.

Auch hier mal ein Bild einer Napoleon at War Miniatur (im Vergleich mit einer FoW - Mini)
