Hi J.\'S.: There\'s a link in my first post to a PDF list with all shops.
Schrumkopf: thanks for the ideas, I\'ve already been pointed to those tutorials and I\'d love to publish them! Hopefully the author reads this too!

Hi Jasper,
I bought the magazine for € 4,95 this morning. A good issue even if ACW is not my favoured theme.
What I appreciate is that I can buy now Ancient Warfare in book shops. Will Medieval Warfare follow this way?

Kind regards,

Macaffey

Those mats look really cool. A \'how to\' article would definitely be something we\'d like to see!

Hi Jasper,

I would be honoured to write a step by step article (with photos of course). Here you can see some of the mats I\'ve already made: http://www.ulmer-strategen.de/Weitere_Galerien.htm

Is there a big hurry or would it be all right if I\'d sent you a draft in a few weeks?

Very best regards,
Tobi

Macaffey: that\'ll depend on how well AW and WSS do... Also, it\'s not only our decision, as the distributor has a say as well.
Tobi: no hurry at all. As soon as you\'re ready, send a note to Guy (editor *at* WSSmagazine.com) and we\'ll take it from there.

Best wishes

Sadly it is standard for foreign press to get \"price-upgrades\" like that at train-station kiosks.

Hi all,
The distributor tells me retailers are not allowed to set another price than the one printed on the cover 4.95 euros... I\'m not sure it\'ll help to tell the salespeople, but you can try. :D

Am einfachsten ist direkt zu abonnieren, Kosten für Porto sind wenn ich mich recht erinnere pauschal nur 5€, also für alle Hefte zusammen.
Lohnt sich, bin bislang mehr als zufrieden.

Gruss

If anyone encounters other cases of WSS or AW not being sold for the official price (€4.95 resp. €7.10), please let me know. Our distributor is ready to come down on those stores like a ton of bricks! :sm_pirat_cool:

And as Olaf says, subscriptions are very affordable, especially now !

Hello, I\'m American, but I do live in Germany. I\'m familiar with Guy from the WAB forum through conversations and I might contribute to the magazine with time permitting of course. I do quite a few different periods and so is there anything in particular your looking for? Really do need to subscribe. :)

Hi Christopher,
Ami\'s are very welcome too :sm_pirate_lol: Period doesn\'t really matter (though I looove your AWI work out of personal interest :sm_pirat_love:) . What matters to us is GAMING! Scenario\'s, ideas, modelling and painting tutorials would all be most excellent.

Alright then, having spent the evening closer srutinizing your magazine, here\'s my verdict. As already mentioned I really like the reviews and the figure and rule comparisons. For several reasons, the articles themselves are unfortunatelly a different matter. First of all their quality differs quite a lot, the \"tactics of the civil war\" article representing the bottom level both content- and language wise. The line between writing in a clear, understandable way and sounding like a 3rd grader is a very thin one and in this particular article it definitely went wrong. The combination of far too many one liners and far too few sub ordinate clauses, conjuntions or any other means which give a text some cohesion creates a very unpleasant read.
Also  on page 48 (to name just one further example): \"SimĂlar to the 2nd Generation line, the drummer boys are sculped to look like boys and not like men. It is a very nice touch.\"
Why two sentences? [...], giving the miniatures a very nice touch / ,adding a nice touch to the figures/ ,which is a very nice touch. ec would have been more elegant solutions.
I know I sound like a nagger here, but you asked for some honest criticism  ;)
Summa Summarum: good ideas, partly mediocre realization; nevertheless, I\'m looking forward to future issues.

J.S., in all honesty, putting one subclause after anothre is very German. Not that I would have written the sentence in the same way, but making this two sentences is perfectly okay. In fact, it is something teachers try to teach German students, since they often lack the ability to make a point. Literally... Besides, even if suggestions are welcome, calling a third person a 3rd grader, is not respectful. Especially when he writes in a language that is not your mother tongue. Sorry to say so.

It\'s perfectly alright to give your opinion J.S., we put a magazine out there, which means we\'ve got to be able to take criticism. If it helps us to improve the mag, only better. Besides, I\'m Dutch and according to our reputation, I ought to take as well as I can give!  :sm_pirate_lol:
